Here are some of our commonly asked questions from prospective staff. If you cannot find the answer you are looking for please do not hesitate to get in touch using any of the contact details on this site or our contact form.

What do I need to join Nursefinders?

To be considered as an applicant you will need to have completed at least 6 months paid experience in the care sector within the last 3 years and/or completed the care certificate and be able to obtain two references, at least one of which from the care sector.  You will also need photographic ID and proof of being able to work in the UK.

What are the costs to join Nursefinders?

If you do not have a valid Disclosure and Barring Certificate (DBS) you will need to complete one with us online, which is £60.  You will need to undertake our mandatory training which must be completed annually.  This is free of charge.  You will need to pay for the hire of our uniform which is £20 per uniform.  This is refunded on return of the uniform and ID badge.  The DBS charge will be refunded to you if you complete 100 hours of work for us in the first 3 months of employment.

How much do you pay your staff?

Our competitive pay rates are generally discussed at the interview stage of recruitment.  We always exceed the living foundation hourly rate.

Does Nursefinders offer job security?

Nursefinders has been established in Cornwall for over 20 years.  We supply our staff to a variety of Health & Social care settings on a temporary basis.  Our staff choose when they are available to work, submit their availability and locations they are willing to travel to.  Then our team of healthcare coordinators will then supply our staff with the appropriate shifts.  This amount of flexibility could not exist without every worker having a flexible contract.

Do I need to be able to drive?

No, we usually have plenty of work on the main public transport routes so if you are willing to catch the bus or train, you can easily pick up shifts with us.

Do you have a minimum requirement for how many shifts I must do a month?

No, you can work as much or as little as you like, just let us know your availability and how far you are willing travel and we will send you any relevant shifts.

Will I have enough hours?

Nursefinders has over 100 clients / companies that we provide staff to on a regular basis.  Provided you are able to keep us updated with your current availability, be willing to travel a reasonable distance and keep clear lines of communication open with our office staff, the more work there will be available to you.
